Hi. I am starting this blog as a means of clearing the crazy talk rattling around in my head. I hear that writers are driven to write, artists are driven to create art, photographers must take pictures and anyone with a passion for an activity is driven to pursue it. For myself I take a lot of pictures, cannot draw a straight line and I have a lot of conversation in my head that really never gets out. I am wondering if writing will help me rid myself of the clutter. That all this self talk is just a writer trying to get out.
This blog will focus on the things that make on impression on me. I have spent my life reading books, watching TV and movies and reading the reviews published on behalf of these entertainments. I even subscribe to ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY. A lot of good stuff there. I will not be arguing with any authors over their opinions because, let's say it one more time, everyone has an opinion and they are entitled to it. Everything in this blog is, of course, my opinion and I am entitled to it. My opinions are based on my life experience and as such are uniquely mine.
What I want to discuss in my first and maybe only post is an episode of Law and Order SVU that ran this week. One of my favorite actresses, Malora Walters, played the victim. I have not seen an episode of Law and Order SVU in years, did not realize there was a new cast of characters on the show. I saw the advertisement for the show and tuned in. The new characters did not impress me but Malora Walters did and Mariska Hargitay. The episode was riveting, emotions raw and disturbing. Malora can get in touch with the character she plays and make it real. Mariska's character, in trying to help Malora's character remember details of her attacker, had to reach deep and pull up memories that she would rather have let stay buried. The result is an episode that is hard to watch but impossible not to once you start. I may start watching Law and Order SVU if this is the quality of story and performance that I can expect every week.
My next post will be about Supernatural if I decide to post again and if I decide to write about Supernatural. Have a great day.
