Broken hearted

Today a 9 year loses faith in people. She is a girl who may or may not be transgender. She wears her brother's shorts and shirts at school and plays mostly with boys. She is sweet and has the biggest heart of any kid I ever met. She loves animals and takes care of everyone. She is intelligent and curious and beautiful inside and out. And she lost another friend today because the friends parents won't let them play with her. How sad is that.

How can we move forward as a society when there are so many people who cannot see beyond their own prejudice? What are they teaching their children and this sweet 9 year old? I can hardly type this for the tears.

What horrible thing do they expect will happen to their children if they play with her? She is fun and interesting and great company. She is a great friend. They would be lucky to have her as a friend. Blast their intolerance and I hope the kids are saddened by their parent's decision and confused enough to challenge or at least doubt the wisdom. This could be that point in a child's life when they realize that their parents are not always right and start looking beyond them for guidance and answers.  A lot for a 9 year old to process.

A little girl will cry herself to sleep tonight.

She is strong and determined to be what she is in spite of any obstacles.  She is awesome just as she is and anyone who knows her knows that.

Please, think before you break someone's heart.

Hello. This post is about the "whatever" part of the post's name. It does not involve movies or TV shows, I just wanted to add my 2 cents to the ruckus over our country's emotional climate.  I am disappointed in the state of this country to say the least.

Where is it written that Democrats must hate Republicans and vice versa, conservatives cannot be in the same room with a liberal. Different viewpoints are essential to finding the correct path, going in one direction or the other exclusively will cause imbalance.  I am a registered Democrat but do not agree with 100% of the Democratic agenda.  I reserve the right to disagree with the Democrats, or anyone else, if I believe they are wrong.  I do not hate Republicans, or moderates, or mixed race individuals, or bible thumpers, or tree huggers, or surfer dudes, or Playboy bunnies.  I dislike (not hate) people who do not respect my right to have my own opinion, even if it disagrees with yours.  My opinion is based on my individual belief system, values and life experiences which are completely different than yours and as valid as yours.  I do not blow up buildings or kill people to get my point across.  That route seems to cause the majority of people to devalue the opinions and goals of the people who caused the destruction.

The country needs to take a deep breathe and relax.  The Republicans did not destroy the country during the Bush or Trump era and the Democrats did not destroy the country during the Clinton or Obama administrations.  We survived it all and will do it again if everyone can keep a clear head.  Republicans keep the Dems in check and the Dems keep the Reps in check and that is how it should be.  That is how the political system in this country is supposed to operate. That is what makes America great.

Hello. I am working my way thru NETFLIX Top 10 shows. I found this useful and interesting, I have seen shows that i would not have considered.  Some of those are below:

Previous:

The Queen's Gambit.  I really liked it even though no one got killed and there were no car chases. Guess I am maturing?  Strange thing is that I would have like it better if it was based on true characters, the ending would have been more dramatic and less Hollywood.  History does have examples of women chess players but they never attained the height that she did during that period of time.  Good bit of film making.

Today:

Behind Her Eyes. No 1 on the Hit Parade and it should beAnother great limited series with an unexpected ending. DO NOT try to determine the last few twists, it is better seen than known before hand.  Great characters and acting, slow in parts for my taste but well worth the time.

Firefly Lane.  It is not mine to review as I did not get past the first episode. Apparently it is No 5 in the TOP 10 right now so someone is finding it interesting.  If you view it and like it please let me know why.

The CREW. No 6 and I despair for America's viewing habits.  This is reminiscent of the network "comedies" that were so popular years ago.  It can't touch Married with Children and that show is as low as I am willing to go to.  That being said, it will probably do well.

No 3, 7 and 8 are teenage shows or baby shows which are unwatchable for any thinking adult.  Must be bedtime.

The SINNER.  No 9 on the HIT PARADE.  I have tried to get into it, Bill Pullman is a good watch and Matt Boomer is easy on the eyes.  It is nice to see Matt Bomer take on a more meaty role and not just a slick handsome playboy type.  A little gray in the beard is nice. And his character drives a Prius. I knew I liked him for a reason.

Bridgerton.  Have an aversion to this show although I have only seen the previews.  Maybe too many period dramas?  Has good ratings, should try it out.  Is there a reason I should?

DRESDEN RETURNS

Harry Dresden is back. Lots of old friends. Some new. and tears. Never cried over a Dresden story, maybe once. I cried buckets over Battle Ground.  Not sure I want to read the next installment.  Probably will.  Harry up to now has been playing in the training ground. In this latest book he graduates to the big time.

You thought the Earl King, Nicodemus and the ghouls and demons that have hounded Dresden, destroying his car, his apartment and lab and endangering his friends were bad. you have not seen anything yet.  I wont give you any information on it. Harry is in the big leagues now and it will be interesting to see how Jim Butcher will top this one.

Read it and weep.
